Corner Brook Competent Inspector Fall Protection (~1-day)

This course is designed for individuals who will be responsible for the inspection of fall protection equipment. Participants will become familiar with the various CSA standards, manufacturer's requirements, and regulations pertaining to the inspection of the following types of fall protection equipment: full-body harnesses, energy absorbing lanyards, anchorage connectors, carabiners, vertical lifelines, fall arresters, self-retracting devices, as well as metal, plastic, and webbing components. A practical exam will also provide participants with hands-on experience in inspecting various equipment from an array of manufacturers. All candidates will receive a certificate valid for three years.

Note: This course does not provide participants with the knowledge base required for re-certification of complex hardware such as Self Retracting Devices. Although this course is schedulled for 8 hours, finish times will vary for each participant, and depend on the lenght of time it takes them to inspect the 40 pieces of equipment.


Prerequisites: A valid Fall Protection training certificate from a WorkplaceNL approved training provider.

A one-time $10.00 “New Learner” Fee will apply the first time an individual completes training with the NLCSA.
