Fall Prevention Awareness Week April 17th – 21st 2023
Falls continue to be a leading cause of injury in the construction industry. In fact, from 2017-2021, in the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction industry: 478 workers received medical aid or lost time from work as a result of a fall. Five workers lost their lives. The falls resulted in approximately $39.2M in claims costs. Falls resulted in 51,944 weeks of lost work for employees and lost productivity for employers.
