NLCSA Annual General Meeting May 29, 2025
As per NLCSA By-Laws, notice is hereby given that the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association (NLCSA) will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 12:00 noon, for the following purposes:
- To confirm the minutes of the 2024 Annual General Meeting.
- To receive and approve Annual Reports.
- To receive the audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2024.
- To appoint Board Members for 2025-2026.
- To appoint Auditors for the year 2025.
In addition, the following amendments to the By-Laws, approved by the NLCSA Board of Directors, will be considered:
Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association By-Laws – Proposed Amendments:
- Removal from Office (Article 5, Clause 5)
- To ensure active and consistent involvement from all members, the following guidelines regarding attendance will be added to help maintain these standards.
“When approaching the 50% attendance mark, members will be contacted by the chairperson to be reminded of ByLaw attendance requirements and confirm future board participation.”
- Officers (Article 6, Clause 1)
- The chair role transitions automatically from Vice-Chair to Chair and then to Immediate Past Chair.
“Upon expiration of their term of office, the Chair shall automatically move to the position of Immediate Past Chair and the Vice Chair shall automatically assume the role of Chair.”
- To allow flexibility in filling vacant Board seats, the number of At Large members will be increased.
“If the maximum of 8 directors is not reached after consulting the other stakeholder groups, the number of At Large members may be increased to four (4) to ensure there’s a minimum of sixteen (16) members on the Board.”
