The NLCSA will be updating the Certificate of Recognition® (COR®) audit instrument to reflect recent provincial regulatory changes and the current Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA) National COR® Standard.

Key Updates to the COR® Program:

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Committee Requirements:

  • The threshold for the number of workers required to form an OHS Committee has been increased from 10 to 20, in accordance with the latest regulatory standards. All questions and guidelines in the audit document have been amended to reflect this change.

New Section on Procurement and Contractor Management:

  • A comprehensive new section has been added to address the critical aspects of Procurement and Contractor Management. This section can be found in Section 14 of the audit instrument (https://nlcsa.com/cor/audit/).

During the transitional period in 2024, any deficiencies identified in the new Procurement and Contractor Management section will be categorized as an “Opportunity for Improvement” rather than a “Corrective Action”.
