Recently we have received several inquiries into to the Certificate of Recognition® (COR®) Program requirement that came into effect on January 1, 2021. To ensure consistency with the national Certificate of Recognition® (COR®) standard, employers must now be able to demonstrate that front-line supervisors have received training in, as a minimum, the following:
- Roles and responsibilities;
- Familiarization with the OHS Act and Regulations;
- Hazard Recognition, Evaluation and Control;
- Incident Investigation;
- Reporting Procedures;
- Workplace Inspections;
- Disciplinary Procedures;
- Due Diligence; and
- Harassment.
Any supervisor who has completed COR® training, the WorkplaceNL Supervisor Safety Certification or the NLCSA’s Safety for Supervisors Training would be considered to have appropriate training.
