Welding flash burn (also known as welder’s flash or arc eye) is a painful inflammation of the clear tissue in your eyes. It can be caused by exposure to bright UV light of various types but the most common source is welding torches. If flash burn is not treated it can lead to serious eye infection or even vision loss.
The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) produces a series of informative radio ads/audio clips that are great for sharing at safety meetings or toolbox talks. The CNIB also facilitates eye health workshops.
