Of the power line contacts by the public in Newfoundland Power’s service territory in 2015, 72% involved heavy equipment including boom trucks, dump trucks, excavators and backhoes and 26% involved trees often due to people cutting firewood and losing control of the tree.

Power line contacts can result in serious injury or fatality.  All workers who use ladders or scaffolding near power lines, or operate powered mobile equipment are required to have Powerline Hazard training.  NLCSA is an approved provider of Powerline Hazards training.  Click here to view our training schedule.
