NLCSA has recently been advised about a potential scam related to unsolicited emails and phone calls from a company that identify themselves as Eworkplace Safety Training.  They say they are affiliated with the Canadian Labour Compliance Agency and are contacting companies that have failed the audit for safety training and WHMIS certification.  Their goal is to register companies for online training.

Be advised that the OHS Division of Service NL, the Workplace Health, Safety & Compensation Commission (WHSCC), and the NLCSA do NOT make unsolicited calls or emails to sell online training and we are not involved with either of the two agencies listed above.  Those two agencies may, or may not be, legitimate, however the Better Business Bureau (BBB) has received several complaints that resulted from similar sales calls and invoices for unrequested services.  If you receive an unsolicited call or email about safety training or auditing that sounds suspicious, and/or from a company that you are not familiar with, call the OHS Division of Service NL, WHSCC, the NLCSA, and/or the Better Business Bureau to check it out before committing to any safety training.
